Fabrics for Holi Clothing

The key to choosing the right Holi attire lies in the fabric. The festival often involves dancing, running, and playing with water and color, so it's important to wear clothing that allows ease of movement and comfort. Opting for natural fabrics like cotton, linen may not be a good idea for many. Undoubtedly, they are breathable and comfortable but may absorb the colours that contain dyes and may not get rid of them after many washes. You may avoid this by using synthetic fabrics as they may also be suitable for not so hot days of March.

Wear Salwar Kameez, comfortable yet chic choice, the salwar kameez consists of a long tunic (kameez) paired with loose-fitting pants (salwar). Cotton fabrics are ideal for comfort and breathability. Choose lively prints or bright colors to capture the festive mood of the occasion.

Lehenga Choli is ideal for those looking for something more festive, a lehenga choli, gopi dress (a long skirt paired with a blouse and dupatta) is a traditional option. Choose pastel or bright shades like pinks, blues, or greens to stand out during the festival. Dress with lace and net fabric is not for this occasion.

Long t-shirt with Plazo pants is hep these days and makes a good Mohalla Holi attire.

Men can wear Kurta and Pajama, the classic kurta, a loose-fitting tunic, paired with a pajama (or churidar) is a staple during Holi celebrations. It is ideal for comfort and movement during the colorful festivities. The kurta is available in various styles, from simple cotton options to more elaborate ones with embroidery or prints.

Readymade Dhotis for a more traditional look, some men opt for wearing a dhoti. This attire is often associated with cultural heritage and gives a classic feel to the Holi celebrations. It pairs well with a kurta and can be worn in a simple, effortless style.

Linen Shirts and denim jeans or Cotton T- Shirts with joggers for a more comfortable yet contemporary look, men can also choose linen or cotton shirts in light, breathable fabrics with chinos. These are perfect for keeping cool while you enjoy the festival, especially if you plan on dancing or playing in the sun.

Again, if you are not comfortable with colour patches on our shirt even after multiple washes use synthetic mix fabrics.
